Title: Best frontend for an AMD Athlon XP 1.4Ghz
Post by: theblt on March 11, 2003, 09:18:21 am
What would be the best frontend for me to use with an AMD Athlon XP 1.4 gig?  And what would be the best emulator then to use with it?

I vote for mame for the emulator... But also consider Daphne, Nebulam2, Zinc, Modeler,  and Viva... I use a few others, but these are my main ones now.  This doesn't include consoles...

As for a frontend.  With 1.4ghz, I would go windows and a windows frontend.  Then decide what you want it to lookilike.

Tons out there.   Read this board because there are at least 5 regulars on this board who have written FE's designed specifically for a cabinet (mine included....)

Umm...Frontends are really just a matter of preference.  They don't depend on the speed of your computer at all.  The mostly depend on things like:

1. How it looks
2. How configurable it is
3. What controls you use
4. If it's in an cabinet or not
etc...
