Title: Happ Controls Space Gun
Post by: BenderTheGreat on June 16, 2006, 04:52:06 pm
Does anyone have picture of it? I searched on Google, but I found ZIP. I am thinking of using it in my Star Trek themed cab and would like to know if it's close enough to look like an Original Series phaser. Thanks in advance!

First off, if Happ sells it that means it is a lightgun for a real arcade machine. AFAIK, no one on these boards (or anywhere else) has ever successfully used a real arcade lightgun with a PC. A while back someone posted a link to a product that interfaces arcade lightguns to USB. It cost almost $200 and was quickly dismissed by everyone. Your best bet is to find someone selling a used ACT Labs gun. The older style Act Labs guns were shaped like a Raygun from a crappy sci-fi movie. Pretty much everyone hated the design of those guns, but it seems like it might work out real well for you.

Well, since this is in ARCADE MISC, I would normally assume that this was non-MAME ... but I am not so sure here ...

OF course, a link to the "Happ Controls Space Gun" would be useful ... my latest catalog is 2005, so perhaps I (and others) are not up to date ...

Cheers.

BTW ... nice tagline, HB ...

Thanks, QB ... been taken to school these past couple of days (maybe time to take a week off) ... definitely doesn't look like a phaser.

And, to the OP, HB is right about the interface issues (sadly, I love my Happs guns).

Cheers.
