i have an older PC monitor ive recently been using as a 2nd screen on my Build. but i have a Final fight cabinet that has needed a new monitor since its existance in my room. and i dont feel lazy at the moment to swap it in. is it possible to take the thing apart and wire it inside the cabinet?
if so can someone help me out with this one?

Is "Final Fight" whats in the cabinet?
If so, then no.
Unless it's a multisync type monitor.

multisync?

If the cabinet you are talking about putting this PC monitor in still actually has the original game "Final Fight" in it, then your PC monitor will not work unless it is multisync which accepts all the different frequencies. PC vga is different from the standard original arcade games.
Low/Standard 15.75kHz - Arcade (Final Fight
Medium 25.00kHz
High 31.5kHz - VGA (PC)
Does the monitor in the Final Fight cabinet just need repaired?

well, the thing is, i dont have the original monitor anymore, it was taken by a repair man from some arcade company i hired to come take a look at it when i was a stupid sophmore...he said he could replace it for around 80-110$ and i dont feel like spending any money on a monitor atm...

And let me guess they want to charge a "service call" / "estimate" or something just so you can get the other monitor back right?
-
yeah you could say that....

If it is a CGA res with an analog RGB in, chances are it will work. However, if it is EGA, VGA, SVGA, or XGA res, you will need a scan converter to "Upscan" it to the frequency used by the monitor. Most arcade games are 15Khz. However, most commonly used PC Monitors today use between 31 and 60Khz. Such converters are expensive, but if you have one it will work.
