Title: Risk the game

I would like to setup "Risk" on one of my emulator PCs, so four people can play on a TV.

Any opinions on which console version(sega, ps1, ps2, commodore, etc.) of "Risk" was the best?

The board version is the best - hands down.

Ditto. Dont bother setting up a game on a TV that was meant for a table.



Just plop down the $20 for the original boardgame by Parker Brothers and have everyone else bring the beer!  :cheers:

I agree with the previous two posters. Im yet to see a video game version of Risk that doesn't suck. Perplexing, since the board game is so outstanding.

My favorite PC version was one of the first ones made back in the x386 days.

But I agree with the others.  If you want to play online that is one thing, but since you are planning on playing in the same room with others why not just do the board game?

It's like the TV Texas Hold'em games that are multiplayer.  Instead of getting the game and extra controllers it is cheaper to get a pack of cards and plastic chips.

Well the group rarely gets together and everyone argues about the "house rules".  A console or computer version would at least enforce the standard rules.

If the group rarely gets together, then you'll rarely be play a game that costs more to set up on a TV than it does to buy the original. Poor economics.

For house rules, just type up any amendments you want to make to the 'normal' rules, print them out, and stick them in the box with the other pieces. Besides, when was the last time you ever saw a computer play by any 'house rules'?
