Does anyone know if it is possible to get this fantastic USB wheel to work with Outrun 2006 coast to coast on the PS2.
Is there any way to convert the wheel and hook it up to a normal controller port? For instance would it be possible to hack it to a ps2 pad?
I'm gutted that this doesn't work, it would be perfect for a driving cab.
Cheers in advance, I'm ready for dissapointment tho:-[

its possible as far as guessing goes. all you have to do is hack a ps2 controller and wire all the buttons, direction. but instead you can just get the xbox version and get the fantec steering wheel which is like the best i;ve ever used.

The only problem with the Fanatec wheel, is that it isn't real force feedback in the sense that it takes its signal from the actual physics going on in the game, but instead just converts the varying degrees of rumble to a sort of "fake" force feedback.
That being said...
The wheel actually does work extremely well with Outrun. Being that it is such an arcade racer, there never really would have been all that much in the line of realistic physics to draw your forces from anyway.
I too was very bumbed that they didn't include support for the DFP, because it is definitely the best wheel available on consoles (and for the most part PC), but the Fanatec Speedster III does deliver, so if you have an Xbox, i'd go that route for Outrun.

yeah I meant fanatec speedster 3 of course lol

Aren't they supposed to be making a PC version of Outrun 2006? You could probably use your Driving Force Pro with the PC version because it works as a PC steering wheel too.

Yep
I read a while back that the PC version would actually support force feedback, so if your PC can handle the game, that would be your only way to get DFP support for the game.
The only thing that sucks about that in my case, is that I'd then be playing the game on a little screen at my desk, instead of playing on the big screen telly on my MUCH more comfortable sofa.

I was thinking about the PC version, but I'd need to get a graphics card better than my Arcade VGA or FX5200 to run it.
I hope if Sumo do the new version of Sega Rally they put USB wheel support in it (if it comes out on PS2)
Thanks everyone, I'm still pretty p****d off about it.
