What is the goal/purpose of this? I could see if it ask you a list of video modes your card supported, controllers your system had, figured out the best resolution, filter, controllers for each game and created cfg files for you. I don't see a lot of use the way it is now, just creating you empty ones.

Well I kindly asked the author to post a description, but either he doesn't speak the good english or just ddn't get it.
quote from his site:
"cfgGen is a little program to mass generate cfg files for all your roms in MAME

That's what I thought, didn't see the extremely useful, thought I might have been missing something. Like I was saying, if it could auto config resolutions, controllers and did a better job than mame by itself, it might be useful. Personally I like being able to tell what games I've never run before.

Something I'd like to see would be a utility that reads your default.cfg (cfg file for all games) and injects it into a ctrlr file under the default heading. This way newbies that don't use ctrlr files could set things up the old fashioned way and still have their settings "backed up" in-case of a reinstall.
