I like how they say they are going to crush nintendos virtual console to pieces... lol

what the person who said that forgets is that Nintendo's Virtual Console has the most important exclusive of all...
Nintendo's own games.

It looks like this rumor was posted somewhere else too.  According to RetroBlast's site, Aaron Giles has said Microsoft is not working with the MAME project at all.  Not to say they don't have a different kind of project in the works though......

This is supposed to have originated from  spong and they are know for making stuff up, even most of the stuff they come up with that makes sense ends up being not true.

Also i dont see how you own/license mame, since mame is a non profit, homebrew type thing, all the games that mame runs have owners/copyrights. so that means they would have to draw up contracts with each game they want to put on live....thereby bypassing MAME altogether.

Now MAME arcitecture* would be somthing possible, but it means nothing without the games cleared for use by the owners

i sent a friend this link and here's a few things he had to say:

"And the only reason the games still have owners, is because US
congress keeps extending the copyright term (under pressure from
disney to stop mickey mouse from falling into the public domain).

Finally, they are suggesting that "users get quality product base".
Is MAME, not a quality product base?  Does it not work properly?  Do
cocktail cabinets burst into flames due to shoddy programming?

The only criticism I'm aware of with regards to the quality of the
MAME code is the poor documentation and comments, which undermines the
stated goal of  "documenting the original hardware".  I suppose this
is analagous to people buying  pipes or bongs to "smoke tobacco".

hehe. he is NOT a microsoft fan. his xbox runs linux and is used as a server..
