I like to buy 1000' spools of network cable and make my own patch cables. But I hate the boots that I use. They are those ones that cover the little release tab of the rj-45 plug. They make unplugging the things from a crowded switch really difficult. I love the boots that come with pre-made Belkin cables. They just have two little rubber walls on either side of the release lever that help prevent it from stagging things, but don't prevent you from manipulating the lever.
Does anyone know where to buy superior boots like these? I've found Belkin brand boots, but can't find pictures of them to see if they are the same as the ones they use on their patch cables.

Where'd you look?
Somewhere in Pixel's novel disguised as a thread is a link to a place that carries those things. You should be able to download a PDF of their catalog too to check 'em out. Mebbe Sat or Sun I'll dive in there and see if I can pull that link out. Make sure to hold onto the rope - seems to have sucked in quite a few folks already
