Title: XBOX controller problems with mame
Post by: Frostillicus on February 27, 2003, 11:42:32 am
Ok I got the cable last week and the drivers loaded up no problem.  The joystick works great for analog games - but has anyone been able to remap the D-pad and analog buttons so they could be used in MAME?  ???  I'm interested in the fighting games(well, any game actuallly) - and when I go to remap the controls MAME won't recognize the buttons or d-pad.  I've set the primary axis to the D-Pad but that doesn't help, and yes I've enabled Joystick in the mame.ini file.

Looking for help from anyone who has successfully played any games with the codeunderground.com drivers.  I'm hoping I just didn't do one simple step that someone could point out :)  THANKS!!

man. im trying to do the opposite ...
which is to run my currently PC based home built arcade controler on the xbox version of mame!

havn't got round to building an xbox controller to USB adapter yet. So i can't help work out how to map things ... but i can suggest maybe sticking the controllers back in the xbox and running mamex!
In mamex the controllers are already mapped to the D-pad, I find the default setup works really well. go try it!

Hmm..that could work, but then I'd have to MOD my xbox (http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/02/27/industry.copyright.reut/index.html)  and have it banned from xbox live forever....no thanks.
