Hello All!....
as usual I can't stop myself from creating module after module for my Mame Invaders cab.
I present the latest entry--
TRIGGER JOY!
I used an analogue Happ Atari Trigger Guard Stick with an APac to make it USB plug/play.
This was reasonably easy to do. The hardest part was fitting it into an XArcade Solo shell (yes...that makes 6 of these I've gutted to date-- and I have another module in progress to be revealed soon).
The depth of the stick was about 1/2" too deep so I had to add "risers" in the top to give me depth. Then once I got the depth I needed I realized that the wire coil around the wires (they protect the wires at the bottom of the stick) was scraping the bottom of the XArcade by about 1/16" of an inch.
I pulled out my trusty Dremmel router and took care of that problem.
Thankfully the stick works perfectly...and I have to give a BIG thank you to Mark Shaker for tons of suggestions and guidence. Also a thank you to Andy at Ultimarc for his great above and beyond service as always.
Enjoy!--

Great job!
If I had the time, money, and motivation for all of these little projects, I guarantee I'd have a room full of MAME cabs with dedicated control schemes.

Mitch,
That looks terrific!
Nosy Q: Why did you choose to mount the stick on the left?
- Mark

because lefties rule.

LOL.
Lefties make things difficult for us "normal" people. ;)
MameMaster, what are you doing for storage of your panels?
-
Damn, that's slick.
I remember the old days, when it was nothing but a X-Arcade, a Dreamcast steering wheel, and a giant SEGA label.
Mame Invaders has come a long way baby!!

I just store them in the original XArcade solo boxes....
I have one more that I want to make then I'll take photos of all of them....
those XArcades solos make great project boxes!
