Does anyone know of a way to mod a dreamcast light gun ( a madcatz) to allow you to reload with a pedal? Ive looked at the mod for the GunCon but time crisis had the option of using a button to reload hotd doesnt that i know of just to shoot offscreen.

DC Madcatz guns has a reverse trigger (which is in front of the regular trigger) which functions as a reload button. So I imagine you could hack that quite simply.

What do you mean by reverse trigger? Mine only has the one.

You have a madcatz gun? There are two triggers, one that you normally use to shoot by pulling your finger back, and one directly in front of the same finger you can push forward. I believe it even has the word "reload" labeled on it.

thats how mine looks there is only the one trigger and the buttons on the sides. there may be another model then but i have the one in the pic though having a button for reload would make things simpler for me.

Crap, my bad. I just dug out my lightgun, its a Pelican model not Madcatz.

So then its not possible (or at least practical) to mod a mad catz controller with a foot pedal to reload?

Well I'm pretty sure the reverse trigger on the pelican really just maps to the "B" button or something, so if your madcatz has buttons on it, just go into the game options and change reload to one of those buttons, then hack the button to a mono jack, and run a wire down to a reload pedal.

i tried changing the options but it isnt an option. the only way to reload is to shoot offscreen. Thats why i was curious if there was a way to mod it so i wouldnt have to aim offscreen.

I always thought that the reverse trigger was the same button as the trigger, only it "blinds" the lightgun as to make the DC think it was a shot offscreen.
Thats just my theory though...

Oh, well that would make sense then. Man, I'm just 0 for 2 on this thread.

Hmmmmmm maybe i can try something similar using a pedal.
