I just purchased a black tiger board from vidgameseller (vidgameseller@aol.com) on ebay. 2nd thing I had purchased this month, 2 were from that piece of crap harpal which took my cash and ran and now this !!!! Any ideas what to do on this?? Its an original capcom board too..
Here's what is happening:
All controls work with test mode, once I start to play the game I get this message:
Warning:
You are playing this video game outside the united states, you are involved in a crime
Stop:
Use and export of this video game outside of the country of the united states and canada is in violation of copyright laws and constitutes a criminal act.
Game play stops then right in its tracks.... screen freezes, all other pcb's test ok, power supply is ok w meter.
-
So are you outside the USA or Canada? How does the board know? Are you outputing a european or british video signal?
-
Check DIP switches and/or internal country settings.
-
Thats the standard boot screen for most games.
How long have you left it after that screen for bootup?
Later,
dabone
-
Dude, it doesn't say "You are..."
It says "IF you are..." Doesn't it? Standard boot warning.
Let it be for a few seconds and then play the game.

Since when did anyone give a crap if it said"this is not legal outside the country of japan/u.s",don't worry,be happy

I live in ny, Once I start to play the game I get the stop error and the game does not play at all from that point
I checked the dip settings, there are no country codes at all, seems to me like someone put an illegal rom chip on this original board..
Also this error only happens the second I play the game..
I've included a picture of the pcb with the rom chips in ?, the other pcb board has all original capcom chips on it.
Board boards:
Capcom - 87118-a-x, has capcom chips 4-6, chip in ?, states bdu-03b, bd01-04
Also chips 7Land 8L has a blue wire soldered from 1 pin on 7L to the same pin on 8L
Also chip 9k has a wire soldered from 1 pin to another pin on the same chip
Capcom- 87118-b-x, has capcom chips 7-14 installed on it
