shock! horror! this is probably my first post in the console section :o . so yeah, this is their site:
http://gp2x.co.uk/
what interests me is that it runs linux so it sounds like you could run a whole buncha mame on it without having to sccrape and search for special emulators...

Just what you've probably read. There's a previous version (gp32x) that had a pretty good following. This is the followup unit which is a little more powerful. It's still "young" so the emulator support is still growing. Stands to be pretty good if the user community continues to grow (not that its bad now). Supports a good chunk of mame, nes, GBA games today and continues to get better. Joystick sucks (though there's a mod to it). Check out the forums for all the details.
I've been contemplating one myself, if for no other reason than it plays movies and can use regular AA batteries (which I can just buy a bunch of rechargables).

danny, search for gp32, you'll get plenty of emulation opinions on gp32 and gp2x. Let us know how it works out if you decide to buy one. Good Luck! ARCADIAC!

bugger. i was kinda hoping you could just run linux mame on it but i guess you have to take into consideration the hardware its running on too...
edit: no biggy i guess since i have now downloaded the gp2x version of mame, just in case i get one (",)
