Title: Standardized extensions for N64 Roms ok?
Post by: electricd on March 16, 2006, 01:19:00 pm
Hello,

My friend has some n64 roms that are named .v64 and some that are named .n64.  Is it OK to rename them all to 1 exetension so that MAmewah is happy?  Thanks.

I'm not sure...I'm guessing it would probably be ok, but it depends on whether the emulator in question reads the file header to determine it's file type, or whether it relies on the extension.

Just FYI, the Mamewah beta (from the Mamewah board) can handle multiple rom extensions.

You can also find tools to convert all your roms to the same format, it always seems silly to have all these roms floating around in different formats.

Seperate with a semicolon:

rom_extension v64;n64

You can also use 'rom_extension auto' and it should pick up whatever extensions are there.

Awesome...great addition, didn't realized I could do that.  Thanks again Minwah!
