more pics to follow.... and they will be SMALLER this time. ;D

Love that game ..I find it really hard!
Whats with the two joysticks?? Is it for left or right hand use?
-
Where the heck you finding all this stuff? You got to let me in on your sources! ;D
By the way excellent find! I love that game too!
-
This one was a drive-by (an ebay drop off place).... sad thing is I missed a Centipede and defender by 1 stinking day... it was probably for the best any way. My wife flipped when my buddy came over to help unload this one. I can only imagine what she would have done if I came home with three.
They still have a DK and a Tecmo Bowl.
Tecmo would be cool but the cab is so friggin' big... I don't think it would fit through the basement door.

The LEFT joy is for the directional movement and the RIGHT joy is for the left/right firing action. The button on the left side of the RIGHT joy is for the smart bomb.

The LEFT joy is for the directional movement and the RIGHT joy is for the left/right firing action. The red button on the left side of the RIGHT joy is for the smart bomb.
#edit# Oops..don't know what happened here!!! Can't delete...me bad!! :P

We tore into this one today as the wife and daughter were up in Omaha so we had a couple of hours to burn before we had to run errands. More pics to follow.

Looks like some mice will need a new home. Does your son enjoy tearin' it apart, or buildin' new better? Wish I had my boys with me all the time, :( looks like fun.
What ebay drop off was that anyways? I never would have thought of that....
-
luckily, the mice were long gone....
until now, he really enjoyed building things from scratch. He is starting to see the joy of "Restoring" something that has been damaged or neglected. Every night he wants to do something.
the one on north 48th (Uni Place) I've seen them run ads in the Journal star also from time to time. I think they had the TUT I bought listed for $200 at one time.

I kept telling my wife that this space just needed something.... now the room is starting to shape up.

Area is definitely shaping up nicely. I'm very jealous.
Suggestion, if I may. You may want to swap the mame cab with the Stargate (or a different single player cab). You might have issues with someone trying to play the pin while a heated battle of Street Fighter is going on.

what state was this drive by in? i was going to build a dk cab but if its till there then id like to pickit up
-
JamIt: Thanks! Once the SG and TUT are rebuilt, the order will be SG, MAME, TUT. We just need to have room to pull them as we work on them.
SithMaster: it be in Nebraska... lincoln to be specific.

Thanks to Kaz1961 I will now have a spare boardset for the TUT. I have determined that the video errors that were showing up were more than likely due to dirty contacts on the eproms and a couple of bad solder spots. once the spare shows up... it will get put in... the current one will get its chips pulled, paper labels removed and get put through the dish washer (no soap) for a cleaning. After that time to reflow the solder in a couple of places.
I also have to go pick up some more novus to clean up the CP and marquee.
-
cleaned the CP and marquee today.
The CPO was laid down with some type of advhesive tape that was still quite sticky.
A little Citrus oil and it cleaned up nicely.
one problem is the CPO is pretty warped. I am going to see if it can be "Pressed" back to it's original flatness.
dis-assembled the wicos... the dust washers were beyond dirty and the stick shafts were covered in rust.... not any more. hand sanded and will polish them up with the bench grinder later this week.
used the citrus oil to clean the remains of a revenue sticker from the marquee (Lower left corner) and then used novus 2 then 1 on it... looks just like new now.
-
replacement board is here and installed (Thanks to kaz1961)... looks good so far except for the fact that the CP is still in pieces for cleaning.... (the boy has been falling behind in his cleaning duties ;D )
suppose to be a major storm rolling through here this weekend, so maybe we will have some time to holed up in the basement to get it playable.
-
Cool, very Cool. like the setup, wish i had that much room :'(
-
So I get rolled out of bed this morning for a rescue call @ 2am... which I hate the calls that happen between 1:30-4:00 am 'cause I can never get back to sleep.
I get home @ 3:45... read a little, post a little and do some stuff for the day job.
so a little over an hour ago I decide... I'll just throw the CP back together and play a quick game to "Test" the board out... after playing...err umm... I mean testing for an hour..... I am happy to report that the new board is working just fine. ;D
Oh... Happy St Pats day BTW!!!!
-
ended up cleaning the bezel and glass and re-installed them last night.
-
Finished CP.
Cleaned up coin door.
repaired CPU door.
