Title: Help ID this cockpit cab
Post by: Raven.. on February 25, 2006, 12:05:15 am
I might buy this cab, but I have no idea what it used to be.  The tag says Taito on it.  This is the only pic I have, and I haven't even seen it in person.

Thanks!!

That's a tough one.  I'm guessing...
Change Lanes even though I've never seen a cockpit version.  Pole Position was 1982, Star Wars 1983, and those two games kind of proved that operators would dedicate the real estate for a cockpit.  Change Lanes is the only Taito title circa 1982-1983 I can picture having a cockpit version (and a horizontal monitor).

Basically a shot in the dark.

I thought it was a Turbo sit down cab.... but that hump throws that guess off.

Continental Circus would be my guess.

Actually, I think it is Continental Circuit (corrected US version, without the VR glasses).  The roof hump looks longer than on the Japanese cab.....and it's here in the US.  ;)

Look right above the "O" for Taito.  Continental Circus has an angle on the US version.  The Japanese version looks like the area that juts out behind the seat may be shorter?

Of course my original guess may not even exist, so I'm bending under the peer pressure and saying Continental Circus too.

So that would be a nice cab to pick up and then strip the black paint.  As the original artwork is very nice!!
