So I am getting ready to move and my new home will have a dedicated space for games. Not wanting it to look empty, I set out to pick up a few more goodies to go in there.
First is a 280ZZZAP. It is minty fresh, complete and working with some board glitches and double screens once warm. It really is as nice as it looks :)
Second is a Rally-X Cabaret that is decent enough. Solid no water damage, and the woodgrain should clean up nice enough. Not sure yet what this will end up being, but it will be Rally-X based art with some sort of emulator.
Enjoy... Discuss

I'd kill a hobo for the 280ZZZAP. That is all.

I've never played or seen that.

LOL! I saw this game back in the stack and thought "hey that sideart looks cool" So I ask about it and he says "Oh. Thats a 280ZZZAP. It works part way... not sure who would want it though." :) :)

It's like night driver for the 2600, but with a monitor mounted like a Space Invaders with card board "background" and dash panels in front of the reflecting mirror. Really weird 3D effect. This one has all the background in perfect condition. When you crash it flashes up a big "CRASH" cloud like a punch in Batman. It's awesome ;D

Dude, where are you from? I'm just wondering if it's worth trying to convince you to sell that or if you're far enough away for me to forget about it.

edit: looking in mame i think the gane i played was 'sprint'. zzapp cab looks much cooler though...

True. This one puts a pretty big smile on my face.... I am looking for a SS Williams Pinball ;)

Had one. Wasn't as cool as you'd think.

Sorry Chad. I was editing while you were posting. A TZ would be a great trade for this game IMO, but I thought of something I wanted more.

Unless that cab is retardedly expensive and rare, a you would have trouble getting a fraction of a TZ for it anyway. A strong TZ is pushing three grand now.

Honestly, that cab is probably worth a couple hundred at most in the real market. Very few people actually collect and have interest in the funky old B&W games (there are obvious exceptions, but usually either popular titles or Computer Space, which is arguably popular anyway). For a nice TZ, you'd probably need about 15 Zaps ;)
All that said, if you were local, I do have a SS Williams that needs a smidge of work, but I'd trade it as-is for your game. Let me know if you move to the New England area!

I would expect the hardest part would be finding 15 buyers at $200 each for the zaps. If this cabinet is worth $200, I'm a pretty happy camper. ;)

Heres a 280ZZZap that is a little closer to you. Not as minty as Nostrebor's but, not all of us can be as lucky. BTW, this is not my auction or anything like that. Saw it and thought of this thread. And the best part is, you don't actually have to kill a HOBO!!!!!! -over- (thats for you Dave)
-
And there you go!
I will say that the Zap is the most fun we have had with an arcade game in a very long time. It is just a huge blast to play! It's kinda funny when someone gets the high score and starts gloating... "I got 4.67 points! BEAT THAT LOSER!!" ;D
(Note: no Hobos were harmed in the process of typing this thread)

More cabs?
Man - this house you are buying, it's for the games, right?
Where are you going to actually live?
:D
-
Yeah, thanks for that. I'm in touch with the seller now, but am a little resistant to bring another project game into the fold when I've just sold a few projects because of not having enough time and am finishing up my last project that I'm keeping. We shall see!

According to my wife, I will be living in the doghouse with the dog, If I bring even one more game home ;)
Actually, I will have a dedicated first floor room, 17x12 for games, pinball, and a TV with consoles. Overflow games and projects will live in the garage, and my shorty pac mame cabinet will reside in one of our children's bedrooms. At this point I have 7 uprights and 2 pinball machines. The gameroom is officially full!
