Does anyone know about the play choice games?
I already figured out that they need to be set up with a game select key and you use p2 to start.
Is there a way to get rid of the green instruction screen while playing? The play screen is very small on a single computer monitor with both showing.

No way.

I seem to recall reading a post on here where someone posted how to do this. It involved changing the resolution and telling mame to strectch the image I believe. Or something about drawing only the bottom half... I can't quite remember. I am sure a search will turn up the right post though.
In effect this "moved" the instuctions screen out of view.
If I find the post I will link it here.

Try Mame32FX, it offers single screen for playchoice games, never tried it but. It also offers single screen for outrunners :)
What I did was got the source and copied his drivers over mame and compiled that. Not to keen on using Mame32.
Or try Mame Plus, just do a google for it.

Oh, yes I see new changes in playchoice bios.
Checked in mameplus and mamefx (in mame32 should be too, because it's bios change).
Right mouse click on game -> Properties -> Miscellaneous -> BIOS -> Single Monitor Version
or
Right mouse click on game -> Properties of playch10.c -> Miscellaneous -> BIOS -> Single Monitor Version
or
Options -> Default Game Options -> BIOS -> Play-Choice 10 BIOS -> Single Monitor Version

thanks. I run mamewah. I'll have to look at the config files to see if I can work on the bios.

I prefer to have a NES emulator instead - then I just remove the Playchoice games from my frontend list.

Agreed. Unless you have a playchoice cabinet, playchoice games are rather worthless. All you get is the annoyance of having to constantly insert quarters.

I was just wondering why in the heck you would want to use playchoice anyway with all the great NES emulators out there.
