Post by: BUCKETHEAD on January 18, 2006, 06:48:53 pm
How much of a HAZZARD is it to decase a computer monitor?

I want to put one in a empty cabinet i have?

Anyone have any pictures of how you mounted it, Once decased ?

Thanks!

Well, it is as hazardous as handling any exposed monitor......  BE CAREFUL!

As far as the mounting is concerned, my machine had a shelf that I could bolt into.  So I bought a monitor frame off of eBay and the ears of the 19" monitor to matched up with the 19" frame.

Very nice!

Looks like it turned out great!

My problem is i want to mount it vertical.

But if i get a frame as you did, I shouldn't have a problem right?

Thanks!

Hard to say.

Mine worked out because I had a shelf that the frame mounted to.  In my machine, I have no idea how I could possibly mount the monitor vertically.  I guess it depends on what your cabinet looks like inside(whether there is a spot to mount vertically or not.)
