I bought this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6236792252&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT) monitor from ebay.

You got yourself an old hanterax polo monitor there, input voltage is as says 120vac through an isolation transformer,if you are in the U.S you could run it from a wall socket but i would not recommend this as the transformer helps with surges and shorts, also put a 4amp fuse inline on the live input.Your connections following your photo are as follows from left to right LIVE\EARTH\NEUTRAL.
Not sure this monitor will run a vga input as the hanterax polo1 was only 25khz frequency signal input, which probably means your picture will split in two /roll/and not lock unless of course your graphics card will run at that frequency.
For a manual try hantarex.com your looking for hantarex polo1 33

thanks for the reply.
1) If its a 25khz monitor does that mean my only option is to find a video card that will support 25khz and I will have to run advancemame?
2) To find out if a video card will run at 25khz I use powerstrip and see if it will do 25khz right?
3) I couldn't find the manual on hantarex's website or anywhere on the web anybody know where I could find this manual?
4) Any additional websites for people who have gotten a 25khz monitor running in a mame cabinet?
5) You say it has an isolation tranformer but that you would recommend using another transformer, am I understanding that correctly? If so where would I purchase this transformer?
-
sorry dont no anything about mame cabs must be an american thing, but there seems to be alot of people on this forum that know about this,i am guessing mame allows pc based equipment to run in a standard type arcade cabinet.
as for your transformer, you could use almost any as long as the voltages are correct but like i said try just connecting straight to mains, then if your monitor works go and get a transformer. In the uk we used 240v-110v transformers simply to get the correct voltage, but i think in the states you have some sort of law on fcc which is why you need an isolating transformer.Happ controls are the people you need to speak to for parts like a transformer, they also sell a converter for video signal but i cant remember if it converts vga to rgb or vice versa.
as for hanterax manuals they are easy to get in uk we just phone hanterax, see if you have a distributor in the U.S and do the same.

alright I'm getting confused. I'm talking to somebody via email who has a 25" polo 1 and he is saying that all the polo 1's are 15khz. Anyway to find out for sure?
-
I'm pretty sure it does support 15 khz.
The Polo/2 (the one I have) does support 15 and 24 khz.
-
Yeah sorry your contact is correct it is 15khz on the polo1,been repairing so many monitors this week dont know my polo1 from my polo2.the polo2 was dual frequency.
-
you DEFINITELY need an isolation transformer on that. I have the polo 27" and it's virtually the same monitor (mine is dead though FWIW) and yes unless you have a newer one (which i don't think this one is) its 15khz.

I need to know what size pins are in this 3 pin connector. Its either .062" or .093". I don't know where to measure from.

carazy: Here is a pic of my power connector on my Hantarex Polo 33.

Hi! Ok I just bought 2 of these monitors and I also bought a polo manual. before I bought the manual I asked him if it covered the polo 33" monitor and he said yes. When I got the cd it said polo 25". I know 13 & 19" monitors use the same chassie so my question is will this manual work for the 33" monitor? If so I have a manual for you carazy ;D if not then I guess we are both out of luck >:(
One more question? How do you know if you have a polo 1 or polo 2?
Thanks

Your chassis has a metal cage protecting the power supply,on that cage every hanterax i have ever worked on has a label noting what type of chassis it is-if its a polo 1 it will say polo then possibly the tube size ie 33 then underneath the frequency ie 15khz-if its polo 2 it will say polo2 15/25khz and tube size, but i will double check for you on sat when i am at my arcade.as for your manual i could be wrong but i am sure all polo of the same type(ie polo 2) no matter the size have the same chassis the only difference being the lopti and a few componants in the frame, but again i will double check and let you know on saturday.

Hey Fig, If you could scan in the manual I can get it hosted (relatively) permanently online --It would be a great help since the only online manuals for hantarex available have 0 useful information. schematics exist but a manual would be sweet! Let me know and thanks!!!

Did some searching and I think I found the manual heres a link http://atarijeff.com/index.php?module=documents&JAS_DocumentManager_op=viewDocument&JAS_Document_id=38
Now I have the schematics if any one needs them. Hope this helps
