Title: 3" speaker grills?
Post by: MPTech on December 29, 2005, 01:39:32 am
Having a bit of a challenge.
I've pretty much completed my Arcade cabinet, but I thought this question was more appropriate here.
I purchased PC stereo speakers (with a bass) and mounted them in the speaker panel under the marque, but cannot find speaker covers that will fit. The area will accept a speaker cover that is 4" (3" would be better). I won an auction on ebay for 4" speaker covers, only to realize they are larger than 4", to fit a 4" speaker).
I tried Radio Shack and Googling, but no luck.

Please help.

You could try to make some. I did mine from scrap MDF.

whammoed,  Thanks man!  I think that will work.
Now I need help for the "Metric Impaired" how big in MM is 2.5 inches and how big is 3.5 inches? (I need something between them. 3" being ideal)

2.5"=63.5mm
3.5"=88.9mm

mm=inches X 25.4

I used chromed 80mm pc fan grills for mine. I just backed the hole with speaker fabric. I have lots of polished alum. on my cab so it's fits the theme perfectly. You could try one of the laser cut grills too. There's no end of styles.
