My oldest Daughter and I have played Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets
(GameCube)
now we are almost finished with Res Evil 4 on Playstation 2
We thought all the other Res evil games would be great.
I pulled out the Dream cast and My Res Evil Cd's ( Spit) the movement really stinks compared to Res Evil 4 on the PS2
Went and rented Res Evil Zero for Game Cube ( same result) (SPIT!)
I guess after starting with #4 you can not go backwards
Graphics are not all that important to Me
Zelda ( NES) is still one of my faverite games
What do you guys and Gals like in Adventure Type games that have GOOD movement of the caractor ( nice fluid movement) My Daughter and I liked how Res Evil 4 let you play as the caractor. ( saw with his eyes)
prefer a list on Dreamcast, PS2 or Gamecube
older systems would be harder to get the games for.

Silver on Dreamcast is kinda more of an NES type of adventure with much better graphics and the story line is good and the game is overall fun to play.
Might be worth a try...

Shadow of the Colosus is a good game but the action is a little slow and I've found that it puts some of my friends to sleep trying to play it. Of recent release action adventure games I'd highly recomend GUN if you haven't played it yet. Don't buy it though, it is rather short so it is better to play as a rental. I was able to beat it in a day or two but the gameplay was awesome! If you haven't played either of the Metroid games for the Cube then you should give them a try.
PS2:
Beyond Good and Evil
God of War
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
GUN
Jak II
Jak III
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Onimush 3: Demon Siege
Prince of Persia 1,2, or 3
Psi-Ops
Psychonauts
GameCube:
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snake
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2
Xbox:
Jade Empire
Ninja Gaiden Black

Shadow of the Colosus is a little artsy. But the battles were intense.
and the story is great. the ending was like 30 minutes long

I'm an old school adventure game fan (King's Quest, etc). I love the Zelda series, Link to the Past (SNES) being my favorite. I'm not too keen on the new school 3D games. Having said this, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is one of my all time favorites, it's on GameCube.
If you have an Xbox, give Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly a try, different but really good game.
Should be able to find either of these games used and cheap.
If you love Zelda, I second Beyond Good and Evil.
Almost forgot, an awesome, I mean VERY awesome and addicting adventure game, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. It's on GC, Xbox, and PS2.
Sphinx you get to play as two different characters with different abilities. One of the cool things about Eternal Darkness is playing as several characters...
