Title: My monitor stopped working after house move
Post by: LeedsFan on December 04, 2005, 07:54:34 am
Just moved house yesterday.  This morning I set up my cabinet in it's new position and plug everything in as normal. But I'm not getting any picture for some reason.   ???

It's an Electrocoin cabinet and I'm using JPac and OptiPac. The PC is still working fine... it boots up normal into MameWah and I can hear the software and sound from my frontend OK. But the monitor just displays a horizontal intermittent white line about 1 inch from the very top. No amount of adjustment with the cabinet monitor controls will bring a picture.

Is this just a case of something working loose from moving the machine in the van? We were as careful as possible, laying the machine on it's back on an old mattress. The machine wasn't jolted or dropped during the move... it all went smoothly.  I can't see the monitor just dying totally from being moved from one house to another.  :-[

unfortuantely with monitors thay can (and do) just die--yours could have been very close and the move put the one part over the edge--what type of monitor?  you may have to go over it with the randy fromm flowchart but it sounds like you have a vertical collapse.
