I am just to buy a Virtual fighter 2 cabinet for about 230 $. It is in really good shape and the monitor are working just great, and the game itself is nice to play. But the main idea whas to mame the machine. I hope the price is right ??
1. What video card should i buy ? (Trident is not easy to find in denmark so any other brand would be nice)
2. Is it nescessary to buy a J-PAC ??
3. As a newbie (with tecnical flair) should i drop the crap and just throug in a TV ?? ;D

Subject: arcadeVGA question
Dear ultimarc
I am a new owner of a Virtua Fighter II cabinet, with a 26 " monitor.
The monitor is doing a very good job.
But i want to MAME this cabinet and use this monitor.
My question.
You wrote that the arcadeVGA card is for a 15 KHz monitor ??
Can i use the arcadeVGA with this monitor bellow ?
MEDIUM RESOLUTION
HORIZONTAL VERTICAL
Scan Frequency: 25.00 KHz Scan Frequency: 60.0 Hz
Scan Period: 40.0

Look here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.lewis5/arcade/video.htm, it seems that the Quantum3D AArdvark
can do the trick.

u should be able to drive it easly enough with any radeon gfx card in windows.
although mame 32 will require h/w stretch

I found some interesting things about my monitor. I found a owners manual inside the cabinet, the monitor is:
29" Flat screen monitor
NANAO AMUSEMENTSCAN 29 .
Type MS9-29SU
Scans dual frequencies 15.625 KHz Sega system 32 Timing and
25.39 KHz Sega system 32 Timing
I gues i can use the arcadeVGA then.
