Anyone actually clear coated their cab artwork?

I've been wondering this same thing, especially since my side art (printed on sticky stock) keep wanting to peel up at the edges.
Unfortunately, I already put all of the t-molding and everything on so I'm too late unless you can brush it on.

Planning on doing some tests on spare pieces of mdf sometime in the next week or two. I bought a spray gun that hooks to an air compressor to paint my cab so I'll be using that.

Way back in the bad old days (late 80's) when I was in tech school for Auto Body we used to take centerfolds and spray clear on the sides of our toolboxs, when it tacked up and was very sticky, we would apply the picture, then let it dry (one day normally). Then we would spray a light coat to seal the picture (to heavy and the ink from the picture can soak the clear coat up and look bad). Once you do a few light coats that actually seal the picture, then you can put it on a bit heavier. It does take several coats, but soon you will be close to a even coat so the picture has no edge. As for yellowing, mine is still pretty close to what it looked like the day it was done. But mine has been inside, no sun or very little sun, and it has been abused, so there are alot fo scratchs on it.. but the clear coat appears to be as clear as day one. remeber this is automtive Paint, so its ment to take the sun. I would imagine it could be used ona arcade cab if the pain under it didnt react with it.
We have a wide format printer here at work and I plan to make my cab side art with it and do it as I mentioned above. (several months off)

Yeah, I would suggest looking for stuff on finishing pinball playfields after repair. A lot of times they do touch up work and the like so there should be a good guide somewhere with suggestions of clears.

I attempted to clear coat Defender cabinet stencil for a friend using clear acrylic enamel paint a few years ago Dupont Centari Clear I think. Looked great at first but reacted to the under color and was ruined . The paint store guys agreed it was a reaction with to differant incompatable type of paint. My advice would be to test on the back or somewhere that won't matter before going all out and messing up nice artwork.
