My first attempt at vector art :) What do you think? what needs to be changed to make it perfect?
One part I'm not so sure about yet is the 'arrows' around the joysticks... doesn't really seem to fit, but I don't know what will fit better. Also they will be 4/8 way sticks so maybe they should have 8-way arrows?

Around each of the joysticks, put the same 4 red arrow graphic that is around the Pac CP. It also has blue maze and dots to fit the rest of your CP.
As for the buttons, there is no question that they should be red, pink, cyan and orange. ;D

Here are a few thoughts.
Ditch the "player 1" and "player 2" in that pacmania or whatever font type. It looks too much like a cheap font. Use the font that they use on an original pac-man overlay.
Use the 4-way arrows from the original overlay. Then put them in diagonally as well. That way you have 8 total arrows in the original style. I did that on my Qbert overlay pictured below. Looks pretty cool if I do say so myself.
Otherwise, it looks great.

I was thinking the same thing about the font, and thanks guys for the arrows suggestion.

Yeah, the original font is much better.
I thought of something else. What if you didn't "shade" in the area around the buttons. Just leave it black. Then make the blue line around the buttons match the style of the Pac-Man maze?(double blue lines)
just a thought

Without wanting to blow my own trumpet too much (especially as this *still* hasn't gone past the mock-up stage...), I like the idea of sticking more closely to the original Pac-Man CP design. You'd need to modify the number of buttons somewhat (yes, they are all white), but you get the idea:
-
I'm pretty traditional but I still think a button for each ghost color would be awesome.

Aside from the fact that getting all the colours as buttons would be tough, I think that it would look too 'busy' - ie - far too many colours for such a small space. I know that some cabinets are like this (artwork, at least), but it's not normally like that with buttons.

His original control panel had blue, red, green and yellow, as well as the ghosts in artwork above. Using the ghost colors as button colors makes sense and would have reduced the number of colors (i.e. busy-ness) of his original. But yes, I don't know if you could find pink and cyan buttons too easily...

I'd say that the original colours were too busy as well. At a push, red, yellow and blue may work, assuming the original CP is used as a basis - green should be right out.
