Title: Eygo 27": Is this guy ok to buy from?
Post by: MrBond on January 21, 2003, 04:24:45 pm

I have no idea if this is a good place to buy or not.  Anyone every have any experience with them?

Also, any other general problems with the Eygo 27" models?

I'm just looking for now.   I actually plan on buying Ultimarc's arcadeVGA card for use with my 20" wells gardner model I already have.  But for $175, I was thinking maybe a 27" might not be so bad!

ohhhhhhhhhhhh...long time no see..

DONT BOTHER...i got 2 from Jim Rainbow and both arrived broken..they were used in bowling alley and they are pretty old and badly fixed(like poor solder joint and other $hit).

more people had problems then success..only 1 i recall was "malenko" that got a good monitor then he told me his monitor wasnt working but he installed a new cap kit then  worked and now it doesnt again(there was a post like last month about his monitor gone bad again)..

Its just way too much headace to deal with this guy..never ever answers phone or email..i had to dispuite with the credit card company to get my money back.

anyway..thats just what i know.

this guy is just horrible. i bought an "untested" one from, which i'm still looking to get fixed. he says somewhere on his page he has 30 yrs packing experience or something, but the monitor was sent simply in cardboard box, no packaging or anything, i'm very lucky the picture tube wasn't snapped off. not only that, but i paid $65 for it, then i get a phone call from a delivery company asking for a check for $150 to deliver the thing! funny when i ordered the thing the invoice said $45 shipping. i called jim and he told me that's only for UPS orders and he doesn't ship these UPS. well why the order checkout that way then!?!?  so i paid over $200 for a broken monitor and can't find anyone with schematics or info on repairing them.

It sounds like most of the problems are with the shipping and the damage that occurs during shipping.  I plan on driving to his store with a laptop in hand and picking out a good monitor and bringing it home myself.  I probably wouldn't get one if I had to have it shipped.

if the invoice said $45, I would make him eat the extra cost...  I don't believe he can charge you more than what the order said, after the fact..
