I'm building an UltimateArcade from the plans and the TV opening is just a hair under 25" wide. I've looked at Best buy, Circuit City, WalMart, Sears and even Radio Shack, but can't find 24". I really don't want the side speakers that are mounted next to the monitor (it makes to TV too wide and I'm running PC speakers anyway).
Anybody have a suggestion?

you may be able to get a tv that will be a little smaller without speakers and use a screen shroud from a gaming machine to close the gap between cabinet and monitor

I having the same problem. I was thinking about de-casing a tv but I would hate to due that to a new tv. If anyone can help please send some info. Thanks

Does anyone know a specific model that will fit an almost 25" opening? I'm thinking a 24" or 25" tube (diagonal measurement) will fit, but can't find any that are suitable. I'm also going to try America's and one other chain.

I just found this one at best buy.com its a 25" but it will just fit into the cab...don't know anything about it. I might go look at it tomorrow.

zabrin,
I saw that model suggested in another topic, but the BestBuy near me didn't stock it when I checked them out. I'm going to see if I can order it and pick it up at the store. By the way, I saw a great 27" at Target tonite, but it measured 25 1/2"!
Next Arcade will be bigger!!! ;D

If you can find them anymore Wal-Mart had cheap Durabrand 27" tvs that are a shade under 25" wide. I think they have a Symphonic model that is the exact same, just rebadged in some stores too. Hope this helps.

The new durabrand model 27" is actually 26" wide. I just bought one and returned it, Not only was it 26" wide, but it also sucked. I hooked it thru my nVidia5600 s-vid, and the text in MameWah was NOT readable. So I took it back and bought what I think is the best money I've spent in a while. I bought a Happs Vision Pro SVGA 27" the screen is super nice and for you guys with the 25" width limit it's only 24 1/2". Hope this help. Don't waste your money on the durabrand.

Tray, if you don't mind me asking, what did that monitor run you? Did you buy it, from happs?

Looks like the Happ monitor is $471, ouch.
Think I'll stick to a TV under $200.

Yikes...It was hard enough getting the wife to let me get a new trackball...
For shi*ts and giggles, I'm going to throw that her way, just to see what she says...
