im at the final stages of my cab and now just sorting out some of the minor annoyances.
One of which included my NES emulator FCE Ultra which for some bizarre reasons runs NES games too fast. I have searched for a speed setting but cannot for the life of me find one.
The version I am using is the hacked one FCE Ultra v0.97 (esc to exit for cabs) found at www.screenshotarchive.com/downloads_emus.htm
Can anyone help - have I missed something?

Is there an option called "throttle"?
-
I found FCE Ultra to be a bit too inaccurate. You might try VirtuaNES (http://virtuanes.s1.xrea.com:8080/vnes_dl.php) it works well in my cabinet.

hmmm...
Im not keen on the idea of changing my emu at this late stage but does that virtualnes actually support the Press escape to exit and hide GUI functions required from a cab?

How so? I thought it has often been considered one of the more, if not most, acurate.
darthbane2k, I'll try to check my settings but may not be for a while. Can you post some of your settings? VirtualNES does have an ESC option, last time I looked it was a little convoluted, but do a search or check screenshotarchive.com

Okay, when I get home in a few hours i'll look into it - would appreciate your help on this, playing super mario bros at the speed annoys me (not to mentions spoils the nostalgic music)

VirtuaNES allows you to remap ALL the input keys. No hacks required! The tricky part is that in order to map the "ESC" key you have to press SHIFT-ESC in the GUI (that will tell the application to quite on ESC).

Oh and I totally respect the desire to not change your emulator. Good luck either way.

actually i have located the problem - its the ROMs.
Only Super Mario Bros 1 and 3 played at high speed. I dloaded a new copy of smb 3 and now it works normally but I cannot locate SMB1 , if anyone can help please PM me. Pref one that works NORMALLY on FCE Ultra.
As for the legality of this, I actually own two original copies of SMB1
