Title: 19" G07-CB0, vertical hold wandering, advcfg, wiring?
Post by: buddhavelvet on January 11, 2003, 01:54:08 pm
The vertical hold on my arcade monitor scrolls ever so slightly upward. I can't seem to steady it using vertical hold and/or vertical line.

I have a pc running Fraggal's Mame. I'm running advcfg to the "Arcade Standard CGA Resolution (15kHz). I've entered pclocK 5-90, hclock 15.75 and vclock 53-60. The I selected "Easy Centereing".  The picture is clear, and centered, but it gradually wanders vertically.

As far was the wiring. The G07 has one wire jumpered between both the NEG H sync, and the NEG V sync. This one wire is then connected to the grey H sync on my VGA cable. I tried wiring it to both the grey H sync and black V sync on the vga cable but the display was quite odd.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

The picture is pretty stable now, but I can't go beyond the 1st "Easy Centering" screen of advcfg.  I wired both the VGA v-sync and h-sync together to the ONE sync wire running to the monitor's jumpered together neg h-sync and neg v-sync.

I can't seem to get advcfg configured properly.

I'm running a 1997 ATI Rage pro turbo pci card.

Hey buddhavelvet,

What kind of "odd' picture did you get with the two syncs separated?  I have the sam monitors in  my two of my cabs and have had to separate the syncs on both.  Also, where did you get your hclock, pclock, etc settings from?  The Electohome manual isn't very helpful!  I ended up using vsyncmame on my GO7 cabs (they are both vertical orientation) since I couldn't get Advance Mame to work correctly.

Thanks,
Doug

Doug,

I got the pclock, hclock, vclock settings here:http://easymamecab.mameworld.net/html/advcfg.htm (http://easymamecab.mameworld.net/html/advcfg.htm)

The picture sort of stabalized when I connected both of the sync wires together to the one wire that's jumpered together in the cabinet (see my orig. post). I must not have twisted them together tightly enough.

The cabinet is a Robotron converted to a JAMMA (DJ Boy  :().
The G07 displays great with the JAMMA game running. The display is quite shakey now with the RGB+SYNC from a vga cable + advcfg.  I can't get past the 1st resolution test after the 1st "Easy Centering" screen, per the instructions above.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have never gotten a GO7 to sync with mame.  I have tried 3 or 4 of them.  I stay away from them.  I suggest WG4900 or hantarex monitors.

If you get the GO7 going please post how.  I even capped one and it still rolled.  There is one cap under a metal heatsink that I did not change...maybe that is the answer....

;D I installed Ultimarc's video amplifier and the display looks great now. No wondering up, down, left, right etc. Perfecto
