While waiting on the results of the Optimus Prime, I picked up work for the Frankenstein cab. Here is a start with the bezel art.
-
That is very cool...How did you make it look like a scetch...Did you use PhotoShop for this...
-
Nope, no photoshop. It is all vector work done in Visio. See also this topic (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=34485.msg352869#msg352869) for the sideart to go with this cab theme (and the marquee (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=34485.msg312633#msg312633)).
This is project currently waiting, I'm finishing some other customer assignments first.

I like that a lot
-
OK
I'm confused...
Shouldn't a bezel include some sort of opening where the actual screen should be?
or...
Are you just making a full picture that would look fine with a box cut out of the middle?
or...
Is that just one piece of a larger picture, and that is not the actual dimensions of the final pic?
-
I believe that it is simply the beginning of the bezel. Nowhere near complete. I would assume that the electrodes would be found either at the top or near the bottom. But thats my assumption....

That is correct, see the attached sample image. There will be two electrode nodes on either side of the screen, the bottom will have some misc electronics/mechanics like bolts and powercord lying around.

Indeed.

I also started on elements to use on the control panel. The player 1 and player 2 sides are marked Dr. Victoria and Frankenstein. I also made a graphic for the trackball... see below:
-
That looks really awesome!!!
-
That trackball artwork is amazing!
I like the missing screw also...
-
Beautiful. Great idea and absolutely beautiful execution. I can hardly wait to see the rest of the CP!
-
Dang....I love that trackball image!
I've never thought about doing special artwork just around the trackball like that. Very very cool!
-
Thanks for the kind responses!

Plan is to have the missing screw as art on the CP somewhere.
I completed the joystick graphic. The CP graphics were kind of tricky since I had no source material to trace from, I designed those from scratch and tried to match the style of the rest of the Frankenstein graphics.
Not sure yet what graphic to use with the buttons. Suggestions are welcomed :D
-
This is what I have so far. The background needs work to make integrate the components into one graphic. Note that the buttons etc. are not in the exact place, I created the mockup to see if the components "work" together when placed on a CP. I have no exact dimensions yet.

DAAAAAMMNNNN!!
-
I have to say...very jealous...that is very nice...great theme...I'd like to have some kind of lab theme myself...
-
Are you still working in Visio?
-
yes ;D

Will there be other bits of "pre-stressing" in the CP? It seems like there ought to be a faux hole where a missing control might belong with bits of wire and stuff hanging out.
-
Damn felsir, that is amazing work.
Playing with illustrator has taught me how time consuming work this is.
You either work extra fast or mega long hours, but the results speak for themselves.
*Bows in awe*
-
Felsir, it's time to move on to a real illustrator's tool. ;)
-
yes ;D
I'm always blown away by your work. Amazing stuff!
And extra points for being that amazing *AND* using Visio! :)
