i have a sgi indy with a wonderful sgi monitor (sony gdm20d11). unfortunately xmame isnt going to work on my indy, i am told, although it would be nice to have it as a dedicated digdug machine.
i would like to salvage the monitor however. does anyone have a recomendation for a graphics card that will support my monitor? i have a sun2vga converter/adapter. i gather the sync on green issue might be a problem still.
which i gather is this:
Res. 1280x1024 1152x900 1280x1024 1152x900
Hor. 81.1 kHz 71.8 kHz 71.7 kHz 61.8 kHz
Vert. 76 Hz 77 Hz 67 Hz 66 Hz
thanks very much

Here is a link with some info on running the unit on a PC. They mention quite a few video cards but of course the company sells their own card as a solution as well. They are pushing their card over the high end cards of the other manufacturers.

I run a Sun 17 inch multisync with only required a small change to combine the H and V sync of the PC to get a composite sync.
Good Luck

According to this change log xmame has been tested and runs on SGI indy.

thanks everyone ... guess getting a dedicated card might be the answer.
well i have irix v5.3, no IDO for making my own, and only 32mb ram (which will probably work since i have 32mb ram to run mame on a win98 celeron just fine)
if i recall the compilation notes stated v6.x was needed which makes sense.
