Title: gba emulator and zsnes mamewah issues
Post by: Marky_1979 on September 09, 2005, 06:33:51 pm
Iv managed to get both zsnes and visual gameboy emulators working onmamewah to some degree.

I can load up the games but when i go to exit them by pressing esc it just takes you back to the window menu of the emulator and not back to mamewah like it does in mame and my genesis emulator.

although this isnt really a problem for zsnes annoying yes but bearable in the gba emulator pressing esc just brings up emulator menu and hides again every time and i cant shut programme down.

Any ideas folks?

Have you actually checked to see if the programs are designed to quit when you press ESC?

if not, be sure and visit

www.screenshotarchive.com  go to downloads>emulators and you can get hacked .exe files for your emulators that don't exit with ESC

and

http://home.comcast.net/~cpviewer/

this is jcrouse's website and if you're going to use mamewah you should become familiar with this site he has lots of tools for you.  Including .exe files for certain emulators to help with the exit ESC issue.

I'd swith to a different version than 1.72 SDL. Try the 1.8 beta or Smooth_VBA (maybe VBA_Smooth).

Then

In one of the menu's in the GUI there is a place you can change the mappings of ALL the buttons. By default ESC has another function. First delete that one and the select the Quit function and assign the ESC key. It's quite simple although the dialog box is antimidating at first and a little difficult to find.

Good Luck,
John
