Title: mamewah game lists?

does anyone have mamewah game lists by genre? i can get them by input type just fine, but i want to get lists of all sidescrolling shooters, beat em ups, etc.

any pre made ones that cover the whole mame list?

You'll probably have minimal luck finding someone with premade genre lists for the whole list of games that MAME supports because the games that MAME supports changes on a pretty consistent basis.

You'll probably have better luck if you asked, "How can I create my own genre lists of MAME games easily?"

To which I'd personaly reply, "Download the latest catver.ini file, then download ListGen, ListGen.NET, or MAMEWAH Config (since you're using MAMEWAH)."

im using a mamewah config program, but it seems there is no "genre" tag in any of them =(((

oh well, ill survive.  Its no big deal, if it takes any sort of effort, im out =)

Using the Mamewah config program, click on the new list you created, then you can import a category list (at the bottom). Select "Category" and "contains" from the drop down lists and fill in "shooter" or whatever category you want.  Then click add.  All the games that match will be added to your current list.  At least I think that's how it worked for me.

Yeah, it's "category" not "genre", but I think it will get you what you want.
