but i read some of the thread here saying that some game may be off by like 5 degree and the routine (sp?) option doesn't work. is that such a big deal?
edit: also how is the text on windows and mamewah? could you easily read the texts? i also read that it was burly on some people's cab.
-
I have a betson 27". The text is quite clear in the center but gets worse at the edges. This is for small text like what is below a windows shortcut. Arcade games look fantastic on the monitor though. I also tried some genesis emulated games and they looked good too.
Everything looks great but I can notice the quality at the edges is a little degraded. It is hard to tell when you are playing, even if you look for it, though.
I have not noticed any rotation problems on mine, but let me double check on that.
-
the text is clear on a arcade monitor, but its expected to be blurry to a point, the betson is for games not windows, also i have no rotation problems at all, if your concerned about blurry text its best to stay with a computer monitor.
thanks

well i know i can't do computer monitor because i want 27" screen. but the text i'm talking about like in mamewah list of games.

This is totally incorrect. D9200 most definitely supports 800x600 resolutions with no problems.
-
This is totally wrong, i sell both of the betson & wells garder, the d9200 only officially supports 640 x 480, if you run it above that you are voiding your warranty...the happ techs have told me if you run it at 800 x600 the life will be much shorter
thanks

Also if you read the review of the D9200 at retroblast.com it states the same thing
thanks

Thats not what the Wells Gardner techs say though. They say the current d9200 will do 800*600 fine, they just haven't updated their specs.

Below is a quote take from kevins site at retroblast.com
"PC Monitor Performance
The D9200 does a good imitation of a PC monitor, even though its roots are firmly planted on the arcade-side of the display equation. It is a multisync-capable monitor, or it can be set to run exclusively as a CGA or EGA monitor. (Since it is a PC monitor, it's even compatible with the ACT Labs light gun!)
As a PC monitor, the picture quality is very good at 640x480. It's every bit as sharp and vibrant as a regular PC monitor (only at 27" the picture is huge!). At 800x600 the image is not as sharp, but considering it's not an officially supported resolution, that's to be expected."
-
And Kevin's review was on a much older revision of the monitor than is produced now.
The current ones support 800x600 at 60hz just fine. The originals only did 800x600 at 56hz.
Kevin's review is over 2 years old now.
Call wg's tech support and ask them the monitors specs.

I love Kevins site as much as anybody but its far from an official source for Wells Gardner information.

I have only had my 9200 for about a month, but it works fine at 800x600@60hz for windows and the front ends I run using the ArcadeVGA. I did run the TRISYNC utility for the ArcadeVGA and that cleaned up the 640x480 and 800x600 modes. Not as crisp as a computer monitor, but the text isn't hard to read. Definitely good enough to use as the front end in my cabinet also. WG says the 800x600@60hz mode works fine on the new 9200s and doesn't shorten the life.

mmmm maybe i will go with betson...
model#44-4070-RT is that right?

May I just ask what revision of the monitor supports 800x600 at 60hz?
I have a revision D... Just making sure for myself, here.... :)

Hey, a newbie here needs some help!
Is there anyone from Europe who managed to get that Betson 44-4070-RT / Kortek KT-2914 screen?
If yes, where did you got it from? Is Kortek cheaper? Does Kortek ship from Europe or only from Korea?
Thank you :)
