Title: High refresh rates

Does anyone know what can happen when you run high refresh rates through an arcade monitor?  I'm talking about the bios screen and the boot-up process before it gets to AOS or whatever front end you're running.

I've had my machines for about three years know and haven't had any issues with monitors blowing up frying out or the like.   Just wondering if anyone knew exactly what can be damaged.

I believe you damage the flyback or Horizontal transistor.  I'd imagine what would happen is one or both will fail (no picture), or you won't be able to sync properly to any picture again (until replacing the damaged componants).

I've herd stories of monitors blowing quickly (with very high, improper refresh rates) or having no real affect if left on for only a couple seconds.
