Title: Can you use a Light Gun with a MAME cab?

i've got a proper arcade monitor in my mame cab.

is it possible to use a light gun to play gun based games? I've (legally) got Operation Wolf and a couple of other gun based games on my mame cab and it would be great to use a gun with them.

Operation Wolf actually uses a "positional" gun, which is basically an analog joystick with a trigger.
It doesn't aim optically, like most of the other games.

Operation Wolf uses an optical, same as Mechanized Attack.(At least the single player version)

(I've owned both, and both use optical guns, KLOV has the entry wrong. go fig.)
It would be so much simpler to keep them running great if they didn't use optical.
