-
Gallery. Without a doubt.
-
Gallery. Without a doubt.
I've never heard someone say ga-lager before heh.
I've only heard GAL-A-GA or GA-LAH_GA
I personally say GAL-A-GA
-
I've only heard one way and it was the right way...
gă-luh-guh
-
I pronounce it by the more common
Aww F--k, there went my double ship!*
or
Gal- A-Guh
Just depends on my score.
-baker
*note: "there went my double ship!" is silent.
-
That's when I usually pronounce it with sign language.
-
A buddy of mine would always pronounce it - Gah-LAY-guh.
I remember giving him so much (censored) for it too. ;D

Oooooohhhh... reminds me of this time I was playing Ms Pac Man at the movie theater. the joystick was really crappy and I died cuz of it. I was kinda mad at the game so I smacked the side of the machine with an open palm...
It powered down and came back up! I looked around to see if anybody noticed, and then calmly walked away...

That's when Galaga needs to know it's "number one" heh
-
ga- lager (as in the beer)
Even when I try not to pronounce the r, I still do.
-
Gal- A-Guh
I think this one is the best phonetic spelling of the way I pronounce it.

Or a bad power switch...My tekken tag goes out if you smack the side, then you have to wiggle the power switch, then it comes back on
-
More like a slam switch, since he did what the slam switch was intended to prevent and the game reacted as it should have when he slammed it.
-
Those old Midway games had a slam switch so that's probably what it was.
-S
-
The slam switch occurred to me too, but I just didn't hit it very hard and it was from the side. I guess maybe they're more sensitive than I realized.
-
GAL-UH-GUH
-
I pronounce it GAG-A-LA, but I don't know how to talk PROPE-A-LEE.
-
I'm trying to figure out if I say gal - a - ga or gal - uh - ga. I think I say uh.
also I'm a little releaved to know I'm not the only one who gives my games the finger. I've finally learned not to kick them when I'm not wearing shoes. now I just jump up and down. :)

32 replies, and no one has gotten the right answer yet.
since galaga was derived from galaxian, which everyone knows
is pronounced guh-LAX-ee-in, the proper pronunciation for
galaga is guh-LAG-uh.

You and Bones are full of poop. It's definitely gah-lager.
-
I just realised, after a few beers, it's pronounced 'aaaaaaah ----------- ---goshdarn--- pieecces fo crapp'
-
its
gal-lay-me
nothing more nothing less
-
YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG...It is definitely Gal-Lager Here's a flyer to prove it... ;D :P
-
If I had an austrailian accent or certain english accents, saying lager may sound more like "laga"
I think the question here is "where do you place the inflection or accent?"
ga-LAGA or GAL-aga
right?
I was alway GAL-aga. Flows better to me.
-

Wouldn't it be easier to PM soapboy? By the time he finds this, you'll most likely be off heat ::)

Go to this monkey builder (http://www.careerbuilder.com/monk-e-mail/default.aspx?sc_cmp2=JS_MONK-E-MAIL&sc_cmp1=JS_default_default&cbRecursionCnt=1&cbsid=72024e9fa1fb40728e19d0a5230f814d-199530327-TA-1) and try the text to speech. How i pronounce G@1agA is how elizabeth pronounces it.
-
You all have it wrong: it is pronounced... MAME.

yes, i did say that in my FIRST post ;) . doesnt actually matter about accent in this case. have you heard of the band OASIS? who are the two brothers in that? doesnt matter if you use an american, english, kiwi or aussie accent. noeal and liam GALLAGHER (like that flyer of vigos) is more or less how i thought gallaga was pronounced...
