how do you guys scan sideart?
i have 3 mega pixel camera so can take picks and 2048 x 1024 res in fine quality
but how to scan at better resolution than that?
suppose multiple pics and stitch together is option

ask Ravage he has provided some great scans, he will tell you the best way to scan and make the full puzzle assembly.

i assume he uses one of those hand scanners?
not sure how good they are
the generated image file must be massive!
problem with photo is getting the focus to be consistent on all pics and also need good lighting as cant use flash (else get lots of reflection)

I guess not, I guess he uses a flat scanner, you'll have to lay down your cabinet ;)

I us a HPScanjet 4600 and a laptop. I lay the cab on its side, use a metal ruler and 90 degree angle as a guide rail accross the artwork and scan with a 2" overlap on all edges.
I then use adobe photoshop elements (v2 - v3 is shite) to put the pieces together. and voila! Oh, and I have 2GB ram to handle all this!
scanner isnt brilliant, it gets allot of banding in the output, but perfetc for vectoring unless you can photoshop.
Bring the cab to rkd and I'll scan it :)

rchadd will you have the opportunity to scan the cabs ??
