Hi Folks.
I recently picked up a jamma cabinet from Ebay, with no PCB. Since I have no PCB, I don't know how to test if the monitor is working or not.
When I turn on the machine, I can hear the "bwom" from the monitor, and then the high-pitched whine, but there's no picture of course because there's no PCB. The part that I'm anxious about is that the screen just stays dark, no bright lines, no subtle glow... nothing.
Is there any way to test the thing short of buying a PCB, or jury-rigging a connection to a PC? Or does the monitor sound dead from the description?
Thanks.

Turn up the screen control on the flyback, you should see white raster, possibly some white horizontal lines.
But to really see what's going on, yeah, you need input.

Thanks Peale. I'll try that, and see about finding some input.
