Title: Windows Command Mame- Can I use MOUSE??? how?
Post by: Demon-Seed on December 24, 2002, 03:36:04 pm
Hi,
I am running windows command line mame with lazarus and I wanted to use the mouse for games like area 51 etc.. until I get that light gun I keep dreaming about. How do I get a mouse to work? Someone said its in the config file but I can not find any kind of mame.ini, or mame.cfg file in the Mame dir.. could someone be kind enough to walk me through it? I would appreciate it.. I am running the mame command line one but the windows version not the dos one.

Thanks
Jim

I found the .cfg files but I open them in notepad and I can not read it? I tried editing in command mode too but I can not read it.

Yes, the one still in the middle is for player 2.  Move it out of the way with player 2's joystick/keyboard ('F' & 'G' to move to bottom right with default input settings).  You are supposed to be able to turn off both, but some (all?) games have a bug where you can't, and if it worked then you wouldn't have the cross for player 1 anyway.  I think it's F4 or something.

It's f1 to turn them off and unfortunately as you said, it turns all cross hairs off. :(  Perhaps in the next version each player's crosshair will be seperate.
