I had a Amazon gift certificate and just picked up the "official" Star Trek Voice Interface Module.
All it does is allow for you to control a light (one light, standard bulb); but you use the "standard" Star Trek voice commands....like, "Computer, Lights at 100%"....etc. etc. It also has Majel Barrett as the computer voice to acknowledge your commands. You can also try to confuse it and you get the famous "please restate the command" (ooohhhh sends shivers down the spine!).
After I proudly showed it off to my wife....she looked me straight in the eye and said "you better not tell ANYONE you have that".
Well here I am folks....TELLING ALL OF YOU....that I have it and I'm proud!......go buy this thing it's hysterical.
It's way too expensive...but worth every wasted penny.

What we need is for an electrical god in this channel to document a method of connecting this to multiple light sources at once (hardwired for use with ceiling lights, etc.)
That way, you walk into your games room, and just tell the unit to power up to 100%, and poof, the machines, lights etc all turn on.

Look, all the thing you bought really does is listen to you and turn one item off and on... so, you set up an x10 system that will control multiple things, triggered by that one signal sent by your voice module, and boom there you go.
It could also very likely be done with any such trigger. In fact, your limiting factor would be the Star Trek device's limited range of capability, not the x10 stuff. There are enough good x10 devices out there that you can do almost anything now.

Radio Shack sells the X10 stuff - I think they "re-brand" it, however it is fully X10 compatible.
They have a ton of stuff, mostly special order, but you'd be surprised: computer program interface, wall jacks, light switches, etc, and I bet you could hook it up to the Star Trek one easily...

Smarthome.com is an awesome place to get x10 stuff. I've ordered from them a few times and always been happy.
