Greeting's,
I just thought I would share my recently created web site for my "Other" hobby. I have been doing color pencil portraits for family and friends for some time now but, at the urging of my wife, I decided to put out a web site and see what comes of it. Any comments are always appreciated.

Looks good to me.
How long have you been doing this.(i didn't go through the whole site if it says or not)

Thanks....Drawing...for a loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time....Portraits have been more of an emphasis in the last 4-5 years. When I was a youth I actually always pictured myself as a comic book artist.

I think this is a great idea. I've been thinking about doing a pic for my wife of our three children.
I went to your website and the pictures look real good. What might be helpful, seeing how your potential customer has never seen the people you have drawn, would be to post the actual picture you copied from. I would be interested in seeing the "before" and "after". You can PM me the pics if you would prefer...
Thanks

I totally agree...My original web site I designed had just that....roll-overs from the original photos to my drawing's...but unfortunately verizon's simple web design setup doesn't seem to offer Web roll-overs. I will see what I can do.

Here is first a photo that a drawing was based...

...and the drawing

I have made up some gif files on my web page to show the comparison from photo to drawing. Thanks to Jabba for the suggestion.

your drawings are really good, but the one of the girl "kristi", the drawing makes her look like shes undead! lol, shes like gray

Nothing a little sun won't take care of... :P

i think you are doing great work...one thing that put me off on the site...is the roll away efect...its very distracting
might be better just putting photo and drawing side by side
-
agreed. All those animated gifs seemed to really slow things down too.

Point taken....Back to the drawing board.....so to speak... ;) Thanks for the comments.

Ok....New revision complete....Man...my editors are a tough crowd... ;) Thanks to all who have chimed in so far.

Great work, just one thing that caught me as a little odd, on the examples page two with the two little girls kissing then dressed as angels.... where is that girls hand going???
-
dude... thats wrong! :police: :police:
-
dude, I'm just asking!
-
That "WAS" wrong...however...those two sweet little girls are now 20 years old and around 240 lbs a piece...and they said they want a "word" with you... :P

I was only suggesting that maybe that wasn't the best way to portray her hand in that sketch. I'm not trying to be rude or dirty or anything like that.

It's cool...I believe you....although no one has EVER mentioned the position of the hands in that drawing before. Actually, I never really drew her hand as I, like many other artists, have a problem drawing realistic looking hands...which is probably why I have gravitated toward portraiture. It's alot easier drawing a face than a pair of hands...at least for me.
