Last ones.

from a design and composition standpoint you should swap sides between the 2 characters that have their hands out.
put the girl on the left and the guy on the right. cover them only slightly by the text. this will give the layout more balance and additional depth since it will look like they are punching out from behind the title.
i'd go with a different font.
zip and post the photoshop file and i'll show you what i'm talking about.

I like hammerama for the name! ;D

Hey GIZA!
I like the name Hammercade (badass). But I would take kcorcoran's advice concerning the two characters, or even just flip-flop the two sides. The effect on the white hammerama shadow is cool but I would like to see it match the color of the first hammercade's font (used with the reddish Hammercade logo).
I would toy around with different fonts and maybe the vertical placement of the text.
Personally I really like them all i just need to see more of the fist guy. And the chops/punches would be best (composition wise) outward, IMO.
Just play with it! :)
Nice project though, all in all I think you will have a REAL sick cab!

Ok here is the marquee with some of the suggestions.

Here is the marquee with the same background as the fighting CP overlay.
-
What's the story of the Name? Personally, I'd go with "cade" rather than "rama" but it's what YOU like in the end. I like the last one quite a bit with the blue border rectangle. Makes it look a little more polished.

When I was younger my brothers used to call me hammerhead, so I figured using the hammer in my arcade name would be cool. Also, when they see it they will think about their childhood and the games that they played when they were younger. Hammercade and Hammerama are both pretty cool names. After all is said and done, I will more than likely end up using Hammercade being that this is an arcade cabinet.

I think your last one looks good.
By the way, how did you come up with the background? I'm just learning Illustrator, and I'm trying to settle on backgrounds but I'm not finding anything that I like.

The first backgrounds that I used I simply downloaded some wallpapers from the Internet that I liked an used those in Illustrator as my backgrounds. Stretching them to 26"x6" didn't blur the images like I thought it would. For some good backgrounds, try www.digitalblasphemy (http://www.digitalblasphemy) and http://wincustomize.com/index.aspx?u=0.
I also searched the Internet for some tutorials using Adobe Illustrator being this was my first time using it as well. Do a Google search for Illustrator tutorials and you should get a list of good tutorials to help you out.

These are my last two submissions on the marquee. Check these out.

Thanks for the tips giza.
I like the lower one better. The angled lettering is a little difficult to read. The second one is cleaner.
It looks great!
-
I decided to go with the lower one. I am getting it printed and will post some pictures of it later.
-
Before you print: check the E's and the C, there is an anomaly in the upper left corner of these letters. It appears okay in the angled version.
-
I prefer the angled letters myself. Also, the dark dude in the back pretty much disappears.
-
I had it printed and will pick it up when I get home from my trip. I think the black dude (Magneto) will show up pretty cool with the backlight behind him. I post a pict of it after I set it up this weekend.
