I've been playing around in Linuxland for a while, and I think that it would be really nice to run my arcade cabinet through Linux instead of DOS/Windows. All of the emulators that I like are available for Linux (some require XWindows).
Has anybody set up Linux to run on their arcade monitor? There is a version of AdvanceMame for Linux, so somebody out there has got to be using it (right?).
How about XWindows/KDesktop/Gnome and all that? I found a config file for X windows where you can enter the settings for your monitor (Refresh rate and all that), kinda like I do with AdvanceMame for DOS, so I'm thinking that maybe XWindows would be a breeze to run on an arcade monitor, but I can't conveniently try it out myself right now.
Any links or info would be much appreciated!
Thanks.
