Title: Monitor went black

 ???  A few days ago I enjoyed a nice game of KOF 94 (MVS). Today I wanted to go for another round, but my monitor won't start up. I hear the game playing, I can hear the credit sound, but I have no picture. I tried another MVS game, and a jamma game, but no luck. I do hear game sounds, but I see no picture.

what is going on? As a non-technician I am afraid to pull and push on all kind of things, but I hope there is a simple solution. Or is the monitor dead (I just bought this 14-year old cab last week).

Look at the back of the monitor while the game is on.  In the 'neck' of the monitor there should be a slight glow.  Is there anything there?

If not, start checking fuses.

thanks for the quick reply. I checked the neck of the monitor. No glow, no sond. So, check the fuses. But where are they? I don't want to touch the monitor PCB board because of high voltage danger.

By the way, all other electronical devices in the cab work (lightbulb, MVS motherboard, gamesystem).

Fuses may be on the floor of the cab.  Trace the wiring.

Fuses for the monitor are generally located directly on the monitor's main circuit board. A Neo-Geo cabinet could have any one of a dozen brands/models of monitors in it. Take a good look at the back of it and go to Bob Roberts' monitor ID page. Then we can advise you what to do.

OK,

My Samsung arcade monitor is still black, there is no glow at the neck of the monitor. Theredore a fuse could be broken.


 I take a good look at the monitor PCB. In fact I took a picture of it. see attachment


so, where do I look for a fuse. At first sight I don't see one.

since you have the back door open, maybe is just that Interlock is not pulled out. Check it...

 ??? Hi,

call me stupid, but what is the interlock? Besides, the kast few times I played some games, the backdoor was also open (the lock is broken, I leave the wood panel out to prevent fallen against who knows what.

the interlock (a switch) would be a device around the inside of the cabinet near the outside somewhere. So when you close the door, it will activate the power. Once you have the door open, it cuts off the power, thats when you need to pull it. Here is pic.
