I bought this cab last month in hopes of getting it done before the release of the last SW movie. I got it done with a week to spare because of great hardware and software available. I put in a 19" PC short boot monitor and it fit like a glove. I used the AKI encoder for the yoke and JoyToKey software to play Daphne games. It runs off of Mamewah (which is awesome with great support).
It plays all Mame yoke games which includes vector games (thanks to the PC monitor).
If plays all Daphne games that require a flight stick. It's ready for FireFox and Mach 3 if they are ever emulated.
It's a blast, probably my favorite cab. If you can't afford a Star Wars cab, the ROTJ cab is a great alternative.
I named it Mame Trilogy.

Did the cab have the ROTJ board in it? I am working on fixing my ROTJ, so any parts would help.

Yes, but I am keeping it.
Sorry,

Nice work! I bought a Firfox cab (same one) two weeks ago with plans to do the same. It'll take me a little longer than a month though. This project is third in line after my Joust Cocktail and Centipede Cocktail restore.
I'm planning on using a dual strike hack instead of the AKI. Any reason you went with the AKI over the dual strike?
BTW, what are the specs of the computer you have in this? I'm trying to figure out if my PIII-400 will work with an old version of MAME.
Also, what are you using to exit games from mame? Did you add a button somewhere? One last question. Do you mind telling us how much did you end up spending on the ROTJ cab? Just as a reference for us all.
Once again. Nice job

I went with AKI because it works flawlessly without having to change any pots on the yoke. It recognized everything the first time. I went overboard on the computer at 3ghz. It's a bit much but I didn't have a system laying around and I build them myself. On the plus side, no problems with Daphne. I attached a picture of the mini control panel I built on the inside of the door. I never cut extra holes into a mint cab. Price? Too Much, but a lot less than a SW. For me....priceless...
