Title: Using one Rom directory for 2 different versions of Mame?
Post by: creatine28 on November 21, 2002, 01:46:50 pm
Does anyone know how to run two different versions of Mame with one Rom Directory?   I want to run Arcadeos (Dos) (advmame62) and then have another install of Arcadeos (dmame62) to run Patch mame, but I don't want to have to add a whole new Rom directory for the 2nd install of Arcadeos?

Thanks!

Just have the same rom directory in the config file for each.

I tried to edit the mame.cfg file, but it didn't work?  Is this the right file to edit?

Yeah (or mame.ini if you use windows mame).

There should be an entry for rompath.
It should be like
romspath roms
right now.

make that
romspath roms;c:\somefolder\roms

That's a FE issue, not a mame issue.  You need to set the snap location in the FE you are using, ArcadeOS, right?  I don;t know much about ArcadeOS so I can't help you there.
