Title: Capcom MiniCute project
Post by: Mr-Megalo on April 12, 2005, 07:05:57 am
howdy chaps n chapess's

Project Announcement

I dont actually like MAME that much, I prefer an emulator under the name of Nebula, anyays all that being said, I've decided to do me another emulation cabinet to go with my various other Sega/JAMMA cabs. I've recently stripped my empty Capcom MiniCute down and this morning I dropped it off at the bodyshop for an inside and outside respray in metallic black, I have no idea how long its gonna be till I get a call saying "its done . . . come and move this hunk o' metal" all I know is its gonna cost me approx

Looks like it will be an interesting project.  Should go well with that candy cab.  ;)

That is such a neat little cab...  Never seen one of those before.

Be interesting to see how it looks in black.  Think I might've gone with something bright or pastel for it, keeping with the "cuteness", but that's just me.  Can't wait to see how it turns out - be sure to keep us posted!

I hear what your saying about keeping it cute, but I guess I'm a bit too much of a fan of the darker side of Capcom's escapades (I'm one of the weirdos whos looking forward to the new Darkstalkers Collection on PS2), I'm hoping it will emit a certain atmosphere from it but not be too overpowering at the same time.

I have managed to get some replacement Capcom sidearts and I have a couple of smaller ones, I was thinking, inbetween the speaker grills having a picture of Gouki from Pocket Fighters, I've just won another CP off of eBay, if the looms that are included are worth salvaging I was planning on making a swappable CP 1 with Sanwa sticks, 1 with seimitsu's but other than that I'm waiting till its back, I'm gonna go with the flow a little on this, and I am not rushing it

ideas and suggestions are welcomed

That is cute... and mini. Hey it's got me wondering, why do the japanese use metal so much? Do they have an abundance of minerals on that island, compared to trees?

bit of an update, since starting the MiniCute, other projects have been started and almost finished, i saw Digital Arcades cocktail cab and thought its about time I posted some updated pics.

I've since bought a Namco Cyberlead cab for use with Naomi1/2 PS2 and anything else that is JVS/JAMMA2 standard, and almost finished my Sega Aero Table

more to come on the minicute soon (I hope) as I have now received a TFT wall mount and a replacement JAMMA loom, the bottom compartmen is going to be different as I have modded my shuttle XPC and shall be adding extra fan/ducting aswell.

Enjoy !

Wow, you have been quite busy Mr. Megalo.  The areo does look fantastic.

Question on the Cyberlead.  Is it possible to rotate the monitor vertically? The front housing looks like it only supports horizontal.

Yo, Today I used Krylon Fusion spraypaint on my Neo29 bezel. The reason for painting: Smoke Stains. I thought this kind would still keep the shine and sheen of the reflective plastic, but it dulled it. At first there was no sheen, now it's showing a little. Anyone know of some kind of spray paint product that adds shine and makes already paint look glossy?  ???

when spraying plastic

clean the surface
use plastic primer before spraying

or

take it to a spraypainter/bodyshop like I did.

I wanted the opposite effect on the Aero Table, so the guy added a matting agent so it wouldnt be too glossy at all

Mr Megalo, you have any idea where I can find japanese cabs in the US. Not the typical ones, like Astro City, Windy or Neo29s. I mean like the ones you found, like kinda off-brand like Pony, OK BABY, stuff like that. Anywhere  ???
