I'm trying to add joystick control to my frontend. Trouble is... All my joysticks are are now 100% in my arcade cabinet with a special connector that I can't just take out and bring upstairs to my development system.
I thought I had one.. but its a game port and my dev machine doesn't have one.
So, is there any keyboard->joystick or mouse->joystick apps out there. I was 90% sure there was.. but I couldn't find them with google.
Thanks

Something like this?

Loddie, I think Lilwolf wants the reverse, like a keytojoy or mousetojoy.
Can't think of anything off the top of my head. You could try that driver that lets you hook up console joysticks to the Parallel Port and jerry rig something.
OT: Lilwolf, even before I registered at this site and just lurked, you've mentioned your frontend. I can't recall ever hearing a name, location, or if it's public or private. Could you fill me in? Feel a little dumb asking, because I'm expecting it to be like one of the oldest most widely talked about frontends.

Ahhh, now I see. I don't know where to find something like that.

the last version was called JFront.

I should probably just send a version out even though I keep adding stuff...
Heh... I learned this a long time ago with DOSCab/WinCab Jukebox. It's never done. I'm coming close to the idea of eliminating "beta" releases and just giving each new version a sequential number like MAME does...

woulding the keyboard with the cursor keys suffice?

It needs to be a windows HUD device. I have a joystick library in java.... I've looked at how you use it and it doesn't seem hard. But I wanted to actually test it..
but since I have cut the cords on EVERY analog joystick I have (that are non-gameport... and I don't ahve a gameport on my dev box).
I'm hoping for a keyboard -> hud controller type.
I thought someone wrote one a while ago so they could get two player Blitz on PC to run (or was it Sega Tennis) since it didn't allow player 1 and 2 to use the keyboard.
